AmbuCom® Privacy Policy

 

As a direct marketing service provider, AmbuCom® performs a number of different operations that involve personal information.  At AmbuCom, we take very seriously the responsibility for protecting the privacy and confidentiality of that personal information as well as proprietary business information provided by our clients.

In accordance with the requirements outlined in Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the expectations of our clients, we have established the following privacy policy.

1. Accountability
AmbuCom® is responsible for all information under its control.  Raj Thayalan, President of AmbuCom, is the designated Privacy Officer.  The Privacy Officer is accountable for AmbuCom’s compliance with the privacy policy.  AmbuCom® has developed policies and procedures to protect personal information, receive and respond to complaints and inquiries, train staff regarding the policies and procedures and communication to its employees, clients and suppliers.  AmbuCom®  acknowledges that it is responsible for personal information in its possession or custody, including information that has been transferred to a third party for processing.

2. Identifying Purposes
AmbuCom® makes all reasonable efforts to ensure that we specify the nature of the intended use of the data at or before the time the information is collected.

3. Consent
AmbuCom® makes all reasonable efforts to obtain consent from the consumer before using or disclosing any  personal information.

4.   Liming Collection
AmbuCom® makes all reasonable efforts to limit the collection of the personal information to that which is necessary for the intended use as identified under item 2, "Identifying Purposes."

5. Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
AmbuCom® agrees to keep personal information only as long as necessary for the identified purposes.  As well, formal guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe destruction or disposal of personal information no longer required have been established and implemented.

6. Accuracy of Information
AmbuCom® makes all reasonable efforts to keep personal information on consumers as up-to-date as possible for the defined need.

7. Safeguards
AmbuCom® takes responsibility for the protection of the personal data in its possession. This includes, but is not limited to, restricting physical access to data, organizational restrictions through security clearances on a "need-to-know" basis, and technological measures such as passwords and encryption. We also use care to destroy personal information, when no longer needed, so as to prevent unauthorized parties from gaining access to this information.

8. Openness
AmbuCom® will make readily available to its clients and to consumers, specific information regarding our policies and practices related to the management of personal information.  Complaints or inquiries can be directed to The Privacy Officer, who is accountable for all AmbuCom’s policies and practices relating to privacy.

9. Access to Personal Information
AmbuCom® protects the right of the consumer to know of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information and to provide access to that information. AmbuCom® will make all reasonable efforts to provide this information to the consumer upon request.

10. Challenging Compliance
Consumers and/or clients may challenge AmbuCom's compliance with its own privacy policy. Any challenges can be addressed to our Privacy Officer via mail, email or telephone, using the contact information provided in this policy.
